For many Warsaw residents, Górka Szczęśliwicka is the only place in the capital where you can learn to ski and snowboard. The 2025/2026 season brings significant changes.

Slope closed – a whole winter without skiing

On 31 July 2025, the Warsaw sports authority (Aktywna Warszawa) officially announced that the slope will be unavailable for the entire winter season. The works are expected to take around 11 months, with completion planned for June 2026.

Scope of the works

• Replacement of the ski lifts (over 25 years old)
• Upgrade of the snowmaking system
• Rebuilding of the utility networks
• Demolition and earthworks

Our take

We have no doubt this renovation was needed. We saw the lift breakdowns and the outdated snowmaking system ourselves. Definitely – it's time for a change.
